With tears in our eyes, three of my friends accompanied me on their motorcycles for the first leg of the trip: Russell Trounce (Harley Davidson), Stefan Ahrensdorf (Kawasaki KLR 650) and Antje Ahrensdorf (Suzuki 650). We drove through Los Angeles and Santa Monica, then Malibu where we had lunch, before continuing on Highway 1. Antje and Stefan left us there to go back to work, while Russ and I headed for Santa Barbara and Santa Maria where we stopped for the night.

Les larmes aux yeux, trois de mes amis m'ont accompagne avec leur motos pour la premiere etape du voyage: Russell Trounce (Harley Davidson), Stefan Ahrensdorf (Kawasaki KLR 650) et antje Ahrensdorf (Suzuki 650). Nous avons traverse Los Angeles et Santa Monica, puis Malibu ou nous nous sommes arretes pour dejeuner avant de continuer sur la route numero 1. Antje et Stefan nous ont laisse la pour retourner travailler, tandis que Russ et moi continuions vers Santa Barbara et Santa Maria ou nous nous sommes arretes pour dormir.
